Leaving hospital after giving birth with a memory box and not my baby was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life.

I found out at 41weeks that my beautiful baby no longer had a heart beat.
The word "devastated" does no justice to what I felt, how I still feel, but the love and care I received was overwhelming ❤

The midwives at Derby Royal Hospital Birth Center handled me with such care and gentleness in such a consuming time of grief and despair.
I will always be grateful to the midwives at the Royal Derby Hospital as this must not have been easy for them either.

The gift of a memory box from Sands to keep little treasures and memories of my baby in, prints of his hands and feet, a lock of his hair, a teddy bear that stayed with him and one that stayed with me that I could give to him so he wouldn't be alone and would always have his mummy with him, the blanket that was with him that I can hold to be close to him and keep his memory alive and the many other little and wonderful treasures that I can cherish as I continually love him and remember him for the rest of my life.

The photographers at Remember My Baby who put everything down just so they can come and photograph our sleeping babies so we can keep seeing their faces, hands and feet, even though they are no longer with us (thank you Kevin).)

And finally, the North West Human Milk Bank, who have been working with me in donating my breast milk to premature babies across 70 UK hospitals so that Bodhi would still make positive marks on this world with the gift of milk to help other babies who need a helping start in life, to help them to grow and be strong.

All money donated will be split between providing the midwives at the Derby Royal Hospital with comforts in their quiet room, supporting Sands in their support of families who suffer stillborn and neonatal deaths of their babies, keeping the photographers at Rememeber My Baby supplied with equipment to keep photographing those precious moments and in supporting the North West Human Milk Bank to safely process and distribute breast milk to help save the lives of premature babies across the UK.
