My name is Bobby McCabe and I am a member of Troop 7 Boy Scouts of America in Ridgewood, New Jersey. I am raising money for my Eagle Scout Project.

First, a little bit about me. In addition to Boy Scouts, I am a senior at Ridgewood High School where I play ice hockey and I am a member of the Youth Group at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

My next rank advancement is Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouts. To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a scout must first complete the requirements for 6 other rank levels. Then as a Life Scout, they are required to plan, develop, and lead an Eagle Scout Service project. I am currently a Life Scout working on my Eagle Scout project.

I have decided to plan my project to benefit Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church where my family and I have been parishioners for almost 50 years. My project will address an important safety concern, improve the appearance of a neglected area of the church property and add function to an area that is currently not being utilized at all.

My project will give the Youth Group members a designated area to wait safely for their rides after meetings and activities at the Youth Center. It will also be a safe place for Youth Group members to collect donations from cars pulling through the driveway during our food and donation drives. There are other groups that access this building for which this safety improvement is important.

The money that I raise will go toward materials & supplies for 2 benches and 5 planters. The benches will be attractive and the planters will provide beauty and a visual barrier for the cars pulling through the driveway.

I am excited to lead this project and would be grateful for any support for the fundraising portion of my project.
