Iv known Bob all my life and it's fair to say he's a decent bloke with a heart of gold. The people of killy will all have fond memories of Bob growing up his trips, and his stories he never asked anything of anyone so let's do something nice for him and give back to the man that helped so many of us.
Let’s bring a little joy back into Bob’s life.
Bob Smith has been the heart and soul of the Killy community for decades. As the man behind our local youth club, The Hogg, he’s been like a second dad to countless young people — always there with a warm word, a steady hand, and a genuine care for everyone who walked through those doors.
At the grand age of 79, Bob is still full of energy and passion — especially when it comes to his beloved walking football. It’s a reminder of his spirit, his love for the game, and the community he’s helped build around him.
But recently, Bob suffered an unimaginable loss with the passing of his beloved daughter, Holly. It’s a heartbreak no one should have to endure, and while we can’t take away the pain, we can show him the same love and support he’s always given to us.
Bob is a lifelong Newcastle United fan, and we’d love to give him a small gift: a trip to St. James’ Park to see the team he loves. A day out filled with football, laughter, and a chance to feel some joy again — even just for a while.
What we’re raising £150 for:
A ticket to a Newcastle United home match
Travel and food for the day
A simple gesture of love from a community that cares deeply
If you’ve ever crossed paths with Bob, you’ll know how much he’s done for others. Now it’s our turn to do something it's a secret so please don't spoil it! So dig deep even 20p the price it would of cost for our toasties
Let’s come together and give something back to a man who’s given so much to us.
