Before the mandatory shutdown, we realized we needed to be an example for the community and made the gut wrenching decision to cease operations. This was the toughest call we've ever had to make, but knew it was our social responsibility.
We then did another gut check. We are so proud of our team and culture, that with so many families depending on us we made the extraordinary decision to not lay-off a single team member. Instead we made a commitment to support everyone until we run out of money or re-open.
BMF was created from love for you and the community with the mission of changing people lives. We opened it, but you turned it into a community—a tribe—so it is a collective experience for all of us. So the next decision was obvious -- how to utilize our team and tribe to serve the community. And thus, we quickly adapted by retooling ourselves into a powerful Community Response Team.
Here are our Objectives:
- Raise cash
- Secure food and supplies
- Distribute to those in need within our community
- Connect those in need with medical, psychological and financial assistance
- Help with transportation obstacles some may face
- Provide assistance with filing for unemployment
We humbly ask that you consider making a donation. If you would like to take it another step further and help our Community Response Team by providing any sort of services, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you all so much for your continued support, stay clean, stay safe & stay fit! We can't wait to see you again in class as soon as we beat this virus!
Sincerely in Sweat,
