Save the schoolies

Since 2022, Pais Australia has been part of Schoolies each year, serving with hearts full of love and a passion to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of listening to stories, offering prayer, sharing encouragement, and simply being a safe and supportive presence.

This year, we are once again honoured to serve at Schoolies from November 22–29, 2025, in Surfers Paradise, believing that every conversation, every act of kindness, and every moment of connection can shine the light of Jesus into someone’s life.

What is Schoolies?

Schoolies is an Australian tradition where thousands of Year 12 graduates gather to celebrate the end of their schooling. For one or two weeks, most of these teenagers are on vacation — many spending their evenings out partying or drinking. But in the midst of all that excitement, we believe God has a plan to meet them right where they are.

That’s where Pais Australia steps in. Each year, around 20 Pais apprentices from across the world — including Nepal, Germany, Brazil, Australia, Pakistan, California, Canada, and the UK — come together from different parts of Australia where they serve in local churches across NSW and QLD, including Ulladulla, Tweed Heads, and Brisbane. With a servant heart, they share God’s love and the gospel of Jesus through conversations, prayer, and acts of kindness on the streets.

Lives transformed at Schoolies

Each year, we’ve seen powerful moments of transformation that remind us why this mission matters.

One evening, one of our team members had a vision from God that six boys would be baptized. The very next night, a teenager approached our team asking to be baptized — and soon, more joined him. Together, we walked to a nearby river, and six young men boldly shared their testimonies before being baptized. It was a moment filled with sincerity, joy, and the presence of God.

In another encounter, two teenage girls heard about Jesus during a simple conversation and prayer.

The next day, we discovered they had both given their lives to Christ that same night. Stories like these — of youths being baptized, connected with local churches, and growing in faith — show that God is moving powerfully at Schoolies.

Our Heart for Youth:

Pais Australia exists to empower and disciple young people to discover their God-given purpose and live it out with boldness. We offer genuine friendship and a safe, trusted relationship where they can share openly, be vulnerable without fear of judgment, and feel truly listened to and welcomed. We believe this generation carries incredible potential — and when they encounter Jesus, everything changes.
