The owner of the Blue Moon Cafe had taken to posting on social media about his disgust with people receiving government assistance, and even posted on their business page that they were short staffed only because “people would rather get handouts” than work. This, mind you, is after the owner received more than $300,000 in government grants from the Payroll Protection Program in order to pay his employees.

But did he?

On multiple occasions the owner asked staff to work for free in exchange for the tips they would receive.

Over the weekend multiple employees of the Blue Moon Cafe were tired of this toxic environment and walked out. The owner went into a rage and fired the entire staff. Workers who showed up later were turned away.

When staff showed up to pick up their final pay check and personal belongings they had the police called on them by the owner.

This is a poor example of how the restaurant industry should operate. Due to this man’s incompetence, insecurity, and rage his entire staff is now left without an income and with bills that are due.
