Hi! We are a team of students looking for funding to create a documentary on the blood biking group- The Midland Freewheelers.
Based in the West Midlands, the Midland Freewheelers provide a 24/7 service transporting vital things such as blood, breast milk, chemotherapy drugs, (and the list goes on) around the region. This is a completely voluntary organisation, from those who coordinate transport, fundraise and the bikers themselves. This communities selflessness goes along way, through saving the NHS large amounts of money by transporting urgent medical supplies, this group helps save lives.
Directors Note:
Through my watching my father volunteer for the Midland Freewheelers over the past year, my admiration for the cause has excelled. With this documentary I intend to bring awareness to these unsung heroes, and show how their compassion is something which is not forgotten. The community behind this organisation is something I applaud the most, every role in this organisation plays such a large part, and their appreciation for each other makes their work ethic even stronger. A point I want to insist on is that it's not just about Blood. The organisation helps transfer other vital things like Medication, Pathology samples, Medical Equipment etc - This plays such a large role in keeping the NHS going! I think it's admirable how this humble group sacrifice their time and lives to help save lives, while many people still don't understand what blood biking is and it's importance. This documentary is being made to show viewers how extraordinary they really are, and to act as a thank you to the Midland Freewheelers themselves.
Your donation will help us cover production costs so we can share their story with the world and inspire more people to volunteer, donate, or simply appreciate the remarkable people who keep this vital service running. Any money donated which is not used will go to the Midland Freewheelers themselves. Thank you for taking the time to read this and remember every contribution, no matter how small, helps make this important story possible.
