We’re taking on our first ever half marathon, but not in the usual way. To make it even tougher, a few of us will be running the full 13.1 miles in the infamous Block P slippers.
We’re doing this to raise money for James’ Place, a suicide prevention charity based in Liverpool that provides life saving support to men in crisis.
Mental health is something that’s close to all of our hearts. One of the lads lives with bipolar, and another lost two of his close mates to suicide. We’ve seen first hand how devastating it can be when people don’t get the help they need, and how important it is to talk, to support each other, and to have places like James’ Place to turn to.
Running in slippers isn’t just about making it harder - it’s a symbol of the discomfort and struggle that people living with mental health challenges go through every day. If we can put ourselves through this to raise awareness and funds, then maybe we can help someone else keep going too.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean the world. Together, we can help James’ Place continue their incredible work and make sure fewer lives are lost to suicide.
The event will take place on 28th September in Aintree.
Thank you for your support,
The Block P Team
