Blessings and pule for Maluhia
Donation protected

We have been blessed with another precious mo’opuna 4/29/22. Mom Maluhia seemed to be doing well right after birthing her baby, but early morning the next day she started to suffer from extreme pain and could barely walk. Long story short, she has a very rare condition called pubic symphysis separation, along with sepsis, SI joint infection and bone infection, and an abscess that presses on her sciatic nerve causing additional debilitating pain. We were readmitted to the hospital Thursday 5/7 and have been here since. The doctors are working on finding the right antibiotic’s to heal her infection and get her back on her feet. The doctors are telling us that this will take a few months to get back to a new normal. Malu will be sent home when she is stabilized with a PICC line to deliver a 6 week course of intravenous antibiotics. She will still have difficulty moving. This challenging time has taken a toll on her family, and all of us. Malus’ kane Kevin has been incredible caring for the two littles plus a newborn. His grandparents and ohana have been a lifesaving support. This has allowed aunty sally moses (mom) to be with Malu and kokua with her care and advocate for her in the hospital. Kevins ohana set up a food train and there have been some wonderful meals delivered. Mahalo to everyone who has reached out in this difficult time to help. Mahalo to family and friends who have taken on kuleana that has helped aunty sally be in the hospital with Malu. Please keep Maluhia and her little ohana in your prayers. We are not out of the woods yet, but making a little progress, so that is encouraging. Mahalo nui, me ke aloha.
