As many of you know Brother Henry Thornton is in ICU with congestive heart failure and stage 4 kidney failure. He has been hospitalized for much of the past month because his kidneys are shutting down due to the lack of heart function, and the inability to rid fluids. Our latest update was that his heart was functioning less than 10% and his kidneys can’t take the fluid build up any longer.

We have seen this family stand strong in the faith for many decades. Henry and Connie Thornton have both had great impacts on hearts and lives since they first stepped out in the ministry, and even until now. Sister Connie would get behind the piano and sing under the purest of anointing, and Brother Henry would follow up with a message from the throne room of Heaven! If you’ve had the opportunity to be in their presence, you leave knowing that you have met some of the absolute sweetest saints of God you ever have before!

They have sacrificed a lifetime to bring the Gospel to many churches. We have heard testimonies throughout the years of how their ministry has helped so many people. Even to this day Brother Henry’s only desire is to preach the Gospel of Christ just one more time. They have taken mission trips and preached across third world countries. They have spent many weeks in the Dakotas preaching to poverty stricken and alcohol addicted families and communities.

Not many people know this, but Henry had a wonderful career prior to stepping out in the ministry full time. By now he would have been retired and like many, enjoying a very comfortable life, but his means of comfort only comes in knowing that he fulfilled the great commission, and that is to spread the Gospel to as many souls as possible. He forfeited a retirement producing career to spread the message that God burdened on his heart. Their social security checks are very minimal because of the lack of funds through the years. Many of you would be devastated to know how much money they don’t make every month. They have always been simple people that only purchase what they need.

Another thing not many people know is that Brother Henry and Sister Connie have given sacrificially to other ministries such as the School of Christ, monthly. When Brother Henry had the opportunity to, he has given his last dollars to make sure someone else was provided a chance to be blessed by the school. Why? Because the Lord gave him a burden to do so years ago, and he hasn’t wavered since.

Brother Henry and Sister Connie have spent everything on the course of trying to make him better, and just to be honest, they don’t have anything left to spend. They need our help!

Please search your hearts and ask the Lord to give you an amount to help them in this time. If this request for contribution can spread to every person that knows and has been blessed by their ministry, Sister Connie may never go without in the years to come. It is the duty of the church to take care of God’s people.

2 Corinthians 9:12  For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;

9:13  Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;

9:14  And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
