Very recently I was asked if I would like to accompany Karen Flewelling, the founder of Drilling for Hope on a humbling experience of a lifetime. Through her philanthropic efforts, Karen has made dozens of trips around the world providing clean water wells, livestock, medical care and supplies as well as school supplies and sport equipment.
I met Karen last June when I attended her annual fundraiser in Saratoga Springs- I was moved to tears. She funds all of her trips from her own pocket- all donations to DRH go DIRECTLY to the people of each respective country and well-drilling endeavors. (Go to the website www.drillingforhope.org )
Fast-forward 8 months- stars might have aligned and the universe was all like- we have this awesome opportunity for you! Remember that day in June that you cried at that fundraiser, well- how about you go with Karen to Africa and see all the AWESOME things she's doing with your own eyes?! This trip will mark her 100th well drilled!
So-since 2019 is my year of the "YES"- I got on a call with Karen (while she was in Mexico delivering soccer balls (I tell you, her heart is huge!!) texted all my people, set up my GFM and I'm probably taking a trip to Africa to install 7 clean water wells and deliver school supplies, goats and chickens and sports equipment...
See, I run a non-profit for persons experiencing homelessness- so I love helping people- but I've never been to the other side of the world to do it!
These funds will help me get to Africa, obtain my visas and provide money for boarding AND help the Karen enhance her mission in remote villages in Ghana, Tanzania and Burkina Faso through my media!
This support would mean the world to me as a photographer, an executive director, a humanitarian and most of all as a HUMAN.
This might be my one shot- so if you could spare some dollars- I'd be forever grateful! I'm looking to raise $3,000 by February 22, 2019- my trip will begin on March 18th!
