Blasian March For Affirmative Action!
July 2023, final date TBA The Blasian March will hold a Rally for Affirmative Action in Washington DC! We are currently awaiting SCOTUS's decision and will mobilize accordingly!
Through the lens of Black-Asian solidarity, The Blasian March calls on SCOTUS to uphold affirmative action and reject the plaintiff in both lawsuits, Edward Blum, who needed "Asian plaintiffs " for his case. By specifically targeting the Asian American community, Blum's strategy will very likely put yet another wedge between Black and Asian communities. The Blasian March will uphold the cross racial solidarity history of affirmative action and also reflect the values of nearly 70 percent of Asian Americans who are registered to vote and support affirmative action. Featuring Black, Asian and Blasian speakers, this march will also affirm that Black Lives Matter because Black access to education, jobs, and more matters for racial justice and the future of Black, Black Pasifika, and African Diaspora communities.
