Hi friends! My name is Stefanie Butler and I am fundraising to help meet some of the needs of the ever growing homeless population in Southern California. I have had a heart for the homeless for as long as I can remember but sometimes I have found it overwhelming to know how to best assist in meeting their needs, when the needs are so great and the number of homeless population is growing by the day. I live in Culver City and in the last 5 years the area has gotten exponentially worse. But you have to start somewhere, so this is where I am starting.

 

My campaign is called Blankets, Bibles, & Blessings. Why did I choose this name? These are three viable needs that I can help immediately meet.

 

Blankets - COMFORT. Everyone needs something to keep them warm at night, something they can roll up to rest their head on as needed, or a soft place to sit. Blankets are the answer and whenever I've given them out in the past, they are so warmly received.

 

 

Bibles - HOPE. When you are a person facing homelessness, you are also a person who is facing hopelessness in many ways. By giving waterproof bibles, people are able to read about and experience the hope of Jesus through His word and His truth. I specifically want to give out waterproof bibles, so that no matter the weather conditions, the bible will not be ruined and will remain in tact to enjoy for years to come.

 

 

Blessings - IDENTITY. We all see ourselves in one way or another - some blessed, some cursed, some forgotten or abandoned. But when you start to see yourself and your identity as valued, important, chosen, not forgotten, and that you are meant for something good in this life, you perspective shifts and changes. You start to believe it. And believing that about yourself, changes everything. That's why with every blanket and every bible distributed, they come with a blessing attached, that is spoken over the individual receiving the gift.

 

 

I have already begun this campaign myself and am looking for people to contribute, donate, and partner with me so I can do even more as the seasons start to change and we move into a colder time of year. I so appreciate your time and interest in what we are doing with Blankets, Bibles & Blessings and am grateful for however you choose to contribute. Option 1: If you are not able to financially contribute at this time, but you still want to contribute, please consider donating a personal handwritten blessing that will be included with a bible and blanket to be donated to someone in need.

Option 2: By donating $10 you are giving a blanket to someone in need!

Option 3: By donating $30 you are giving a waterproof bible to someone in need!

Option 4: By donating any amount, the money will be given to the general fund that covers both bibles and blankets to be donated to those suffering from homelessness.

Option 5: Please commit to pray for the homeless community in Southern California, as well as those in your own cities, and around the world as a whole.
