Dear Friends of Cox's Bazar!

Our annual blanket initiative began in 2008 with people (Bangladeshis and non-Bangladeshis) who work for the UN and other large humanitarian organisations. And many of you have been wonderful supporters since then!

Why did we start this?

Because one of the best ways to promote peace and community development is to support and encourage passionate and committed locals who know their community, are respected and act as role models, and help bridge the divide between refugees and host communities, between those living in poverty and those who are not, between Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and other communities.

These community connections are even more important during a time of unrest. Like what Bangladesh experienced in 2024, when former PM Sheikh Hasina fled the country after student protests, leaving a situation of no law and order.

Mohi and his youth clubs do all the strategic, bigger picture work (most of them work for the UN or large NGOs), but they also do the simple, heart-felt gestures that these institutions can never do. It's a simple thing, yet it means a lot.

We would love your support to distribute blankets and clothing to Rohingya and Bangladeshis living in poverty in Cox's Bazar. Mohi and his youth clubs have identified 1,000 vulnerable Muslim, Buddhist and Hindu families in their local area they would like to assist.

Your donation to Mohi and the youth clubs' winter blanket and clothing drive will go straight to the purchase of blankets and clothing from local retailers.
