UPDATED SEPT 2021
Thank you to all who have donated and participated in helping us with the Trails at Blakeley Park! Over the past few years, with the help of Park staff and other volunteers, the trail system has transformed! We have taken about 8 miles of poorly maintained trails to well over 20 miles!
The Park has cut new trails and constructed some amazing bridges, and we have cut our own trails that are a bit more bike-specific. It has been challenging keeping up with normal maintenance combined with clean-up after several storms over the past year, but we have managed to keep up!
With Fall 2021 upon us, we are ready to tackle some of the issues that have not been addressed this past year. We have some significant erosion in places, some bridges that are in need of repair and improvement and we want to create some fun new features to the existing trails! We have a plan and permission from the Park to move forward with these projects. This is where you can help! This stuff is not free. We have to purchase materials and rent equipment to repair the eroded areas and damaged bridges. Plus, we need to purchase more concrete pavers to continue crossings of excessively muddy areas and more lumber for SWEET trail features! We have a lot to do and we are ready to get our hands dirty!!
Everything you donate goes straight to these trail projects. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on the trails!
