Global estimates published by WHO indicate that about 1 in 3 (35%) of women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime.  This is particularly common in Africa, so 2 best mates are walking from NSW to Federation Square, VIC (approx 215kms) over 6 days to raise money for Pippi House Tanzania. We are volunteering there next year and want to raise money for what seems like a great cause. The women who have been welcomed into Pippi House are victims of homelessness, sexual and physical abuse and human/sex trafficking. They also often have young children from forced marriages when they were in their teenage years. Pippi House gives these women a place to live, a chance to go to school and an opportunity to seek advocacy and counselling. Donating helps us provide them with food, education, bedding, psychological help and a lot of things we may take for granted.
