Blackrock Playground Project

The ‘Blackrock Playground Project’ was started by a voluntary group of local residents who have a shared aim in securing a playground for the Blackrock Village area. Our local area is populated by hundreds of young families and the village centre attracts thousands of visitors from across the city and county each year to our weekly farmers market on Sundays. To our mind, a dedicated play area is the outstanding feature to fully establish Blackrock village as a focal point for the surrounding community, ensuring the availability of amenities for all generations of residents. Our committee have been fund raising for the past year and also have €15k committed in pledges. The aim is to reach a community contribution of €80k towards the overall cost of the playground.
