Hi folks my name is Rich Burvill (aka #runningman ‍♂️) age 50 and I am running (slowly) the Blackpool Marathon on Sunday 26th April 2026. It will be my 6th Marathon but my first one since 2013. My fastest marathon was 15 years ago when I was much much faster, so this time I’m hoping just to plod around between 4hrs 30mins and 5hrs 30 mins. I am running to honour the memory of my much loved and much missed father in law Norman Crofts who sadly passed away due to a major stroke on 22nd June 2025. I have chosen to run for the Stroke Association in his memory. As well as being my father in law, Norman was like a dad to me and a mentor.

He was also a much loved Husband, Dad, Grandad (Pappy) and Great Grandad to his family. Any donation however big or small will be very much appreciated as my only objective is to honour Norman’s memory and coming out of marathon ‘retirement’ seems to be a fitting tribute.
