For almost a decade, Black-Owned Syracuse™ has been dedicated to celebrating, documenting, and supporting Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, brands, and organizations throughout Syracuse and, as we continue to grow, across Central New York.

What began as a community directory has evolved into a trusted community platform that highlights Black-owned businesses, preserves our stories, and creates space for meaningful conversations about Black entrepreneurship, economic empowerment, history, and culture.

Today, Black-Owned Syracuse™ is building more than a directory. We are creating a digital archive that preserves the history and impact of Black-owned businesses and our community for future generations. Through original storytelling, educational content series, business spotlights, community initiatives, and special projects, we are documenting our community in real time while creating resources that people can return to for years to come.

Our work has already made an impact. In 2019, we launched A Taste of Black 'Cuse™, the area's first Black food festival, welcoming more than 500 attendees during its inaugural weekend. Although the event was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are excited to bring it back and continue creating opportunities that celebrate Black culture, entrepreneurship, and community.

As Black-Owned Syracuse™ continues to grow, so does our vision. We are expanding our directory and resources to serve Black-owned businesses throughout Central New York while preserving BlackOwnedSyracuse.com as the archive of where this work began.

Your support helps us maintain and expand our directory, preserve our digital archive, create original reporting and educational content, highlight local businesses, strengthen our digital platforms, support community programming, and invest in future initiatives that uplift Black-owned businesses throughout our region.
