ITA Blackn[è]ss Fest è tornato! Dal 6 all’8 ottobre a Milano.

La terza edizione del Blackn[è]ss Fest è organizzata da Blackcoffee_pdc in collaborazione con PleazerMob, Blacksheep Night, Archive Books e in partnership con Voice Over Foundation, CILD e Rainbow Cafè, e con il supporto di mosso Milano. Una tre giorni che propone una rielaborazione dell'universo afrodiscendente, attraverso musica, arte e tavole rotonde per riflettere sul concetto di nerezza, secondo un percorso di decolonizzazione del linguaggio.

Blackn[è]ss Fest nasce dalla volontà di condividere storie, viaggi ed esperienze attraverso lo sguardo delle comunità interessate ed è concepito come un modo per decostruire le narrazioni dominanti ma anche per costruirne di nuove attraverso un senso profondo di autodeterminazione.

Per il Blackn[è]ss Fest è fondamentale che i temi pilastri della tre giorni vengano riproposti sotto chiavi di lettura inedite; che le persone partecipanti possano immaginare e proporre diverse prospettive. Partendo dalle varie sfumature delle esperienze personali — un allenamento continuo del muscolo dell’empatia — abbiamo lo scopo di tracciare collettivamente i punti comuni che esplicitano una struttura di violenza e discriminazione sistemica nel nostro specifico contesto.

Ma non solo, una tre giorni ricca di imperdibili performance, live e show per celebrare artistɜ razzializzatɜ.

EN Blackn[è]ss Fest is back in Milan, from October 6th to October 8th!

The third edition of Blackn[è]ss Fest is organized by Blackcoffee_pdc in collaboration with Pleazer Mob, Blacksheep night and Archive Books, in partnership with Voice Over Foundation, CILD, and Rainbow Cafè, and with the support of mosso. A three day long event that offers re-elaborated versions of the African universe throughout music, art and panels, following a decolonizing approach, in order to reflect on Blackness.

Blackn[è]ss Fest was founded with the desire to share stories and experiences through the lens of the targeted communities. The festival is thought of as a way to go beyond the mainstream narrative and to build new ones with a deep sense of autodetermination.

For the Festival it is fundamental that the pillar topics of the three day long event are proposed from new points of views and new perspectives. Starting from the various nuances of the personal experience - an exercise of empathy - we have the aim of collectively retracing the common dots that make explicit the violence and the systemic discrimination of the structure of the society we are living in.

But not only! Blackn[è]ss Fest offers a wide range of live performances, dj sets, and art exhibitions, involving guests from all over Italy.

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

ITA L’organizzazione crede fermamente nell’importanza di compensare adeguatamente tutte le persone coinvolte nel festival. Tutte le persone parte del team organizzativo e creativo, artisti e speaker sono persone razzializzate alle quali viene riconosciuto un compenso economico nel rispetto del lavoro al fine di non replicare le condizioni di sfruttamento tipiche del settore culturale e di intrattenimento, e più in generale dei lavoratori non bianchi in Italia.

Oltre a questo, come si può immaginare, il piano finanziario prevede diversi costi organizzativi, di logistica e produzione. Grazie ai nostri partner abbiamo raggiunto circa il 50% del budget previsto per l'edizione 2023. Oggi lanciamo la campagna di crowdfunding per raggiungere il restante 50% ! Il raggiungimento dell’intera somma, inoltre, ci permetterà di produrre e diffondere materiale audiovisivo della terza edizione durante il post festival.

Sostenere questa campagna è un’azione preziosa, un contributo a supportare e a costruire insieme un’alternativa alla narrazione mainstream di temi e soggettività che ci riguardano in prima persona e anche un’alternativa alle condizioni svantaggiose offerte dal settore culturale e dello spettacolo, in particolare nei confronti di persone razzializzate.

EN The organization believes in the importance of rewarding and paying all people involved in the festival. The creative and organization committee team members, as well as artists and speakers, are all racialized people, to whom the organization recognizes an economic compensation for their work. The aim is not to replicate the exploitative working conditions of the cultural and entertainment sectors and, more generally, of non-white workers in Italy.

Moreover, as it is easy to imagine, the financial plan includes organization, logistics and production costs. Thanks to our partners we raised almost 50% of the preview budget for the 2023 edition.

The impact

ITA ​​Un festival che di edizione in edizione cresce ed evolve insieme alle comunità che lo attraversano. Gli spunti e le riflessioni condivisi dalle ospiti della seconda edizione, infatti, sono stati essenziali per costruire scaletta e contenuti di questa terza edizione.

L’edizione del Blackn[è]ss Fest 2022, ribattezzata Laboratorio di resistenza (in un articolo di Adil Mauro), ha ribadito l’importanza di un momento di riflessione interna agli spazi collettivi razzializzati e anti-razzisti. Per questo motivo, il tema della terza edizione è l’ introspezione. Abbiamo pensato di introdurre un momento ancora inesplorato dal nostro format: un workshop sul tema della razzializzazione e un workshop dedicato al tema del consenso. Tramite questa esperienza si proveranno a tracciare in maniera partecipata le sfaccettature specifiche del privilegio che segna continuamente le nostre interazioni.

EN The festival evolves year by year, along with the communities that pass through it. The reflections shared by the guests during the last edition, indeed, represented the starting point for the creation of the 2023 festival.

Black[è]ss Fest 2022 - called “laboratory of resistance” in the article by Adil Mauro - has confirmed the importance of a reflection within the racialized and antiracist spaces. For this reason, the third edition's overarching theme is introspection.Therefore, we decided to introduce an unexplored format, that is, a workshop on racialization and a workshop on consent. Through this experience, we aim to retrace - using a participatory approach - the specific sides of privilege that continuously influence our interactions.
