You Helped Us Build It - Now Help Us Fill It With Learning and Hope!

The Early Years team at Blackburn College is continuing its partnership with the Malawi Relief Fund UK charity and Maone Technical College in Malawi, following the successful fundraising of over £10,000 last year, which supported the construction of a brand-new nursery.

This year, the next phase of our journey begins.

In June, a team of eight dedicated learners and staff will travel to Malawi to support the development of the nursery, helping to bring it fully to life. We will be working closely with local communities to welcome children into the setting, establish daily routines, and create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring learning environment.

Our work will also focus on developing key policies and procedures, as well as designing engaging areas for learning that support children’s development. The nursery will be equipped using donated resources and will serve as a training hub for an Early Years qualification we hope to introduce—creating long-term opportunities for the local community in partnership with Maone Technical College.

We will also extend our support to our sister nursery at Shukran Orphanage, where this project first began, continuing our commitment to the children and community who inspired this journey.
