July 15 UPDATE! Look what we did in 2 weeks! Thank you so much for your generosity and desire to be part of the change. On the Town Hall last week, Robbie Wilson wanted to share this link where you can order Black Achievers Alliance shirts as a fundraiser and show your support. And she wanted to share this email address where you can connect: [email redacted]
Over the coming months, the Black Achievers Alliance (see detailed description below) is organizing 4 Zoom community meetings, inviting Black leaders to speak about what effective Allyship looks like and how reparations can be part of that work, youth activism and school equity that will last, how to support Black Empowerment through business and leadership, and building the bridge towards Unity. These community meetings are free and everyone is welcome.
100% of the money raised will go directly to Black organizers and speakers.
Join host Robbie Wilson for the first scheduled community meeting:
WHEN: Saturday, July 11, at 2pm
WHO: With guest speaker John Jones III

The Black Achievers Alliance (BAA) started in 2015 as an AUSD Roundtable, organizing parents, teachers, and principals to address the inequities in student policy disbursement and student achievement barriers for African American students. The BAA existed to address and to reduce Black students' suspensions as disproportionate to their enrollment population, to develop strategies to improve Black student graduation rates, to prepare Black students for college and vocational opportunities, and to reverse the causes of Black students falling behind their peers as early as elementary school.
For the last several years, the BAA has been successful providing resources and support for families seeking guidance on how to maneuver through the school system. Over the years they have held events such as Black History Month and Juneteenth Celebrations, the Unity Picnic, and other workshops and programs designed to empower and highlight Black achievements throughout our Island, State, and Nation.
