Black Grad BC 2025

Celebration of Excellence and Achievement (COEA) a.k.a Black Grad is a family and community celebration to honour K-12 and post-secondary students of African descent who have achieved a significant milestone in their academic journey. At 2024's COEA, nearly 50 students were recognized, 30 of them graduating from secondary or post-secondary institutions! In 2025, we're anticipating an even bigger group. The ceremony and reception usually takes place in May and includes various traditions such as Donning of the Kente, gifts, guest speakers, and music.
