Black Girls Day Off began because I saw how much Black girls pour into the world while rarely being given a space made just for them. As a teacher, an author, and a Black woman, I know how often their joy gets interrupted, dismissed, or overlooked. I wanted to create a day where they could breathe, create, laugh, and just exist without pressure — a day that tells them their dreams matter and their joy isn’t optional. The first event proved that the need is real, and now the goal is to keep building that space every year.

In 2025, almost 100 girls showed up for a day filled with joy, creativity, inspiration, and community. It was a powerful reminder that Black girls deserve spaces where they can be themselves, dream freely, and feel supported. For 2026, I want to make Black Girls Day Off even bigger and better. The funds raised will help us expand to a larger venue, offer more hands-on workshops, and provide new resources for the girls to take home. We’re planning creative sessions, a mental-health component led by a professional, and a special guest speaker to inspire confidence, leadership, and big dreams. Donations also cover essentials like journals, workshop supplies, snacks, water, and lunch for every girl. Every dollar goes directly into creating a day where the girls feel supported, inspired, and seen.

Thank you for supporting this event, sharing the link, and helping us show our girls that their joy matters and their future is worth investing in. With your help, we can serve even more girls in 2026 and continue building a space where their dreams and joy are celebrated.
