Hi, my name is Sha'Londa Houston and I needing some help right now to keep my family together. The current systemic injustices that we are being faced with run deeper than police brutality. Every part of our lives are touched by the desire to tear apart our families and keep black families from thriving. I am currently an employee of the state and receiving my Master's in Marriage and Family Counseling. Despite my best efforts to provide for my family, my son's estranged father found himself in a bad situation and my life is being dragged alongside his as he is facing criminal charges. I am now having to fight for legal custody over my children from the state despite not having anything to do with his situation. I am currently needing help to raise funds for legal representation so that I may continue to retain full custody over my children and make sure that I am able to be licensed once I graduate. Your support will keep my children in our home and make it possible that I can continue to advocate for the Black community and offer counseling to those whose families are struggling. Having my children grow up in a world where we all help each other to do better and be better is my entire purpose in life. CPS and various other State run organizations want to stop our children's futures by removing them from healthy functioning homes and this cannot continue. Please help us! My children are straight A students and any disruption in their lives will result in lasting damaging effects and we are already feeling the wake of this from being targeted by the State.
