Why We're Raising Money

Let us recall during the pandemic, when our sanctuaries were closed. In response, the NYC Radical Faeries came together in Brooklyn for a Beltane Celebration.

We dug a small hole in the Prospect Park Rose Garden, received a tree from the property of dear friends, gathered the ribbons, danced and sang, and filled the Park with color, laughter, and joy. That moment planted the seed for what could become our very own Urban Gatherette.

Inspired by the Philly Fae Gatherette, the Boston Fae Cabaret, and the NYC Forest of the Future, we have been dreaming and scheming about a faerie gathering in the city—and the time is now!

On June 20-22, 2025, Brooklyn Radical Faeries will create a Summer Solstice Gatherette to bring the magic of our sanctuaries to NYC. Our vision includes:

Heart circles, ritual, dancing, and a (k)no(w) talent show

Workshops and performances curated by our community

️ Sunday brunch and shared meals for our faerie family

Welcoming as many faeries into our homes as possible

Celebrating queer joy together and strengthening our channels of love and support

NYC Pride happens the weekend after our event, so we are setting the tone with our own unique faerie vibe—rooted in queerness, creative expression, and deep connection.

We need to raise $6,969.69 (or more) to cover venues, food, fabrics, lights, sound, and more. As usual, the event will be open to all and NOTAFLOF (No One Turned Away for Lack of Funds). BUT GAYCBAGS (Give As You Can But Always Give Something)

This Gatherette is determined to happen no matter what, but the more support we receive, the more possibilities we will have to make a powerful and immersive Radical Faerie experience.

How the Funds Will Be Used

Your donations will help us cover our estimated costs:

✨ Venue space ($3,000): A welcoming, accessible space in Brooklyn

✨ Food and drinks ($2,000): Ensuring all faeries are nourished

✨ Decor, fabrics, and lighting ($1,000): Creating a vibrant, magical atmosphere

✨ Workshops, performances, and sound equipment ($500): Supporting the artists and facilitators who bring our space to life

✨ Accessibility and community support ($469.69): Helping ensure everyone can attend, regardless of financial situation

✨ Extra funds: Any additional funds raised will go towards future Brooklyn Faerie organizing efforts to bring the magic of Radical Faeries to our beautiful borough

For many of us, the Radical Faeries are more than just a community—they are home. This Gatherette is a chance to deepen our connections, invite in new faces, and celebrate the transformative power of faerie magic in an urban setting.
