Thank you for visiting this site! We hope we can give you a glimpse into the Bisant family and their story so we can all come together to support and love this amazing family.
The Bisants have been on quite a journey since they started their family. Like every parent, Jamie and Joe had great dreams and expectations about what expanding their family was going to be like. When their oldest daughter Dakota was diagnosed with Autism at age 3 they had to readjust those dreams and expectations as early intervention, therapies and advocacy became their primary focus.
When Jamie and Joe were in the middle of navigating Autism they welcomed a healthy baby girl, Capri to their family. Then the Bisants were once again blessed with a precious boy. During Jamie's 20 week ultrasound they discovered their baby boy, Joey, had Down Syndrome. This shocking news was so unexpected but the joy Joey brings to their family is astounding. Again Jamie and Joe were back to advocating and therapies, now for two kids with special needs.
In February 2018 the Bisant family again received shocking news when 3 year old Joey was diagnosed with Leukemia. Their world was turned upside down as Joey's health became their primary focus. Their daily lives are now consumed with hospital stays, chemo treatments and additional therapy, in addition to continuing to advocate for 8 year old Dakota and ensuring she receives the best care for her to reach her highest potential.
Many have asked how they can help this family in their time of need. First and foremost, PRAYER. This is their greatest need and deepest desire, that we would all join them in praying for Joey's complete healing, that each of them would experience Christ's presence and peace, and that through it all, God would be glorified in and through them. Please join us in praying, fasting and persevering in faith on behalf of Joe, Jamie, Dakota, Capri and Joey.
If you would still like to help in other ways, please consider donating to this fund to help cover their growing medical and therapy expenses. Joey will be in and out of the hospital for treatment for at least another 2 years and needs extensive therapy. Though Joe and Jamie would insist that we not ask this, financial assistance is one of the most tangible and helpful ways that we can serve them during this very challenging time.
