Birthday Fundraiser in Memory of My Uncle Brian

Tax deductible
With my birthday coming up on March 7th, I wanted to share something deeply personal.

Sixteen years ago, on my birthday, my Uncle Brian passed away after battling a rare cancer. Losing him on a day that’s meant to be a celebration has forever changed the way I view my birthday. Instead of letting it be a day about me, I choose to make it a day about remembering him, honoring his life, and continuing his story. ♥️

Uncle Brian was autistic, and he experienced the world in his own beautifully unique way. Because of the incredible resources available in Rochester and the surrounding areas, my grandparents were able to give him the support, structure, and opportunities he deserved. Those resources helped Brian live a life filled with purpose, connection, and joy.

Brian loved to run. He loved to challenge himself. He competed in local special Olympics as well as traveled to Washington, DC to compete in the Special Olympics Marine Corps Mini Marathon, where he was featured in the newspaper for earning a medal! Knowing the courage it took for him to step outside of his comfort zone continues to inspire me.

Uncle Brian taught me that being different is not something to hide — it’s something to celebrate. He taught me that happiness can live in the smallest moments. And he taught me that showing up as yourself, exactly as you are, is enough. ♥️

This year, in Uncle Brians memory, I’m raising funds for Special Olympics New York — an organization that continues to create opportunities, community, and confidence for individuals just like him.

The best gift you could give me for my birthday is a donation of any amount to this fundraiser.
Every single dollar helps keep Brian’s legacy alive and supports those with disabilities who deserve the same chances, encouragement, and love he received. ♥️

Thank you for helping me turn my birthday into something bigger than myself and for honoring someone who will always hold a very special piece of my heart ❤️
