Birthday fundraiser for a Palestinian refugee camp in Jordan

Hi everyone!

To celebrate my birthday and mark the beginning of Ramadan, I'm raising funds for Jerash Camp (locally known as Gaza Camp), a Palestinian refugee camp in Jordan that I've visited numerous times.

According to UNICEF, Gaza Camp is the poorest of the 10 Palestine refugee camps in Jordan, with the majority of households falling below the poverty threshold. This will be my third year organizing a fundraiser for the camp on my birthday.

I initially wasn’t planning to do a fundraiser this year but then, I received a text from a volunteer inside Gaza Camp, telling me that the people I helped last Ramadan had been waiting all year for my support. Over 90% of the refugee population in the camp were expelled from Gaza during the 1960s. Many still have relatives in Gaza who have been killed over the last year and a half. The devastating humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip has redirected much of the charitable donations that typically reach Gaza Camp during Ramadan, exacerbating the hardships faced by these refugees.

As I turn 25 this year, I’m once again reaching out to friends and family to support this fundraiser. Any contribution, even just $5, can make a meaningful difference! If you're unable to donate but still want to help, sharing the GoFundMe with others would be greatly appreciated.

I will personally distribute the funds in Jordan. I will also provide a detailed breakdown of how your donations were used—whether to help individuals cover rent, tuition fees, or essential expenses like medical, water, and energy bills.
