Bipula's Fruit Orchard Project
Donation protected
Bipula Chakma lives in the remote Khagrachari Hill Tract district in Bangladesh. She works on a low income family farm, growing rice and flower brooms. Bipula wishes to plant a garden of two hundred mango trees. These would be sold at her local market and provide much needed employment for local people as well.
The appeal target covers the purchase of the young mango plants, transportation to the site and labour for the clearance and plantation of the garden. Cow dung, used as fertiliser, will be purchased from local farms.
Bipula also runs a non profit organisation, CHIE Foundation, dedicated to raising funds for the education and welfare of children in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The mango garden will help her maintain her family farm and provide another resource for her charitable work.
