#BiPP25 Crowdfund Campaign

The Black and Minority Ethnics in Psychiatry & Psychology Network  is a social enterprise led by a voluntary multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals and students who aim to prioritise and advance the representation of ethnic minoritised backgrounds in psychiatry and psychology.

We demonstrate our commitment to achieving this aim by hosting free and accessible events and activities which:

1) Provide insight, guidance, and knowledge on accessing and navigating careers in psychiatry and psychology for Black and minority ethnic individuals.
2) Increase exposure to, learning, and discussion of cross-cultural psychological theory, practice and research.
3) Explore various approaches to supporting Black and minority ethnic mental health and wellbeing.

Since our inception in September 2019, we have been successful in hosting seven conference and training events , and our #NewFaceofPsychology campaign  has held over 25 Twitter and Instagram live interviews which provide advice, share knowledge and empower ethnic minoritised aspiring psychologists from a range of disciplines. These events have had a combined attendance of over 1,000 students and mental health professionals; and feedback received has demonstrated the importance of providing a community for registered and prospective ethnic minoritised psychiatrists and psychologists to acquire social, emotional, psychological and developmental support.

However, we can not continue to offer free and accessible events for our community without financial support.

COVID-19 has significantly impacted our ability to fund next year's events and we’ve had to resource current activities with profits accumulated from ticket sales in 2020 and donations received from generous individuals. We express our gratitude to speakers who have kindly offered to facilitate our events on a voluntary basis so far.

We’ve launched this crowdfund campaign in hope of raising £25,000 to support the BiPP Network coordinate and deliver events from September 2021 to September 2022.

Help us reach our goal of £25,000 by donating now!
