Billy and I have been invited back to Australia to be present for the launch of a new research center and laboratory at the Perron Institute, Murdoch University, Perth, WAU. We will begin on this long journey in less than 3 weeks and everyone who met Billy 2 years ago (April 2017) on our first trip, will be amazed at Billy’s lack of decline and continued stability. He has done remarkably well on his drug treatment #Eteplirsen , now #Exondys51, by Sarepta Therapeutics. Billy and I, will once again, meet with dignitaries, including the new Governor and academia, and we’ll campaign and advocate on behalf of eteplirsen’s efficacy. After 19 hours of flying time, we will have a couple of days to recover from jet lag and explore Sydney. Billy is excited to see and explore this city after reading about and seeing pictures of the Opera House from photos in books and television. He absolutely loves animals and sea life and we will fit in as many visits and excursions as possible to aquariums and conservancies. After this anticipated and much needed R&R for both of us after 20 hours in the air, we will then board another plane for several hours to cross the continent to Perth for the launch of the new center and other PR. Billy enjoys travel and this unexpected return trip will again be rewarding and humbling on many levels. This travel fund will cover anything outside of the flights and accommodations provided and would ensure an adventurous, educational, fun, and hopefully stress free trip for both of us. We thank you in advance to those who would like to sponsor Billy on his return visit to Oz as an advocate and ambassador for #Duchenne #MuscularDystrophy. Feel free to share this campaign to those who may be interested. Stay tuned for updates from our trip and feel free to follow us on Instagram and of course Twitter for photos!
(I will also post on this page, for those that may not have seen, a mini documentary made from our last trip. You can also subscribe to my YouTube channel where videos are also posted to follow Billy’s progress, shenanigans, and more!)
Thank you,
Billy and Terri
