Bill's Crazy Charity Challenges

Let me introduce myself, I am Bill Hodgson and some may say my charity challenges have been game changers.


I don't do these challenges  for self-recognition, I do them to push myself to a limit and to attempt to raise not only funds for local charities but also for awareness for some incredible causes. I have been fortunate to be given opportunities - and meet amazing people and know this gives them a platform. It's all about awareness. 


Over the past few years, I have seen people struggle, lost friends, been too aware of how hard life is and just want to help in my own special way. 


What started as a crazy challenge has grown dramatically. 


Starting with a 24hr 28st tyre flip, to then a 26 mile Santa slog pulling Santa Claus through the Fylde coast during Covid.


I ramped up the next challenge to flip a car for 24hrs, and then for the Christmas extravaganza pulled a 2.4tn pickup truck over 30 miles in 20 hours (with the weather being it's typical self in the North of England)!


Along the way raising much needed money for local charities, and also ones close to my own heart, just to help those who need it most. 


So what next? .... Well I got thinking.


Why not combine the previous challenges, and go for a world record. Not just one, but 2 world records.


Starting on the 8th of June 2022 at Stanley Park Blackpool, Lancashire I will go for the world record of furthest vehicle pull in 24 hours. The current record is 22.1 miles, I promise this will not only be broken, but will set at an record distance.


Once this is completed,  a quick massage followed by hot and cold treatment before round 2!


Starting on the 9th of June I will flip a 28st tyre from Stanley Park in Blackpool, all the way to my hometown of Kirkham. It's over 8miles, and again will break the current world record.


Two challenges which will push me to my absolute limits, and I am well aware of the magnitude. But this is for some very personal reasons, making a difference.


I will be predominantly raising for;


Mark Potter - a close friend. A former British boxing champion who very recently was diagnosed with terminal cancer. His fight is real, and I feel whatever quality of life is required he will get.

Fylde community food hub – With families struggling, what this local based charity does is amazing. Providing tinned food, and fresh produce to those who need it most. 

Donna's dream house - Blackpool based charity who makes the wishes come true. Giving children and teenagers free holiday experiences to make memories. Offers accommodation and a experience to put smiles on those who deserve it most we only ever have 1 life ...

Secret Santa - What these guys do is amazing, they raise funds all year round to not only give those without a Christmas wish but also the young children at Eid. A truly great cause.

Kirkham Juniors FC - a local football team, which needs the support. Grass routes football is always forgotten about. 
 


All monies raised through the events will be split across the charities – lets make that difference.


 We have some great sponsors already on board, but let's make that difference.


I'm putting my body on the line,  let's make it worth while and put the NORTH WEST on the map.
