Hi, my name is Rick Smith and I am hoping to raise some funds to help my brother, Bill Smith, get through a tough stretch he has ahead of him.

Last week Bill took a hard while in his backyard - he hit his head and left him with a broken neck and back. Anyone who knows Bill knows what a great guy he is - someone who would do anything for anyone. In his own words: “Born an uncle. Never a dad. Forever a friend.” And that couldn’t be more true - he’s a great brother, uncle, and friend anyone could ever be lucky enough to have.

Beyond getting himself better, right now, Bill’s biggest concern isn’t himself - it’s his dog, Ringo. Thankfully, Ringo is being cared for by a great friend while Bill begins the road to recovery.

Bill has always been one of the hardest-working people I know, working over 30 years to the restaurant industry - from UNO's to Fat Slim’s and Hard Rock Café to Gallagher’s Sports Grill, Tarbell’s, and now a General Manager at RA Sushi. He’s also a huge sports fanatic, cheering on all things New England - the Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots - and a proud, lifelong Liverpool FC supporter.

Bill doesn’t have family nearby in Phoenix, so I’m organizing this GoFundMe to help ease some of his financial burden while he’s out of work and to ensure Ringo continues to be cared for during Bill’s rehabilitation.

All funds raised will go directly toward Bill’s living expenses, medical-related costs, and Ringo’s care until he’s back on his feet. Any amount helps, and so do your thoughts, prayers, and shares.
