Bill Armstrong's Run for the Children of Ashraya

On Sunday 28 November 2021, Bill Armstrong will run a marathon, 42.2 kilometres, on the streets of Newcastle to raise money for the Friends of Ashraya.

 

Friends of Ashraya  is an Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission approved organisation dedicated to raising money for Ashraya Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Centre in Bangalore, India.

 

Its focus is to raise funds for the Ashraya School. So, it can continue to offer free, good quality education to hundreds of vulnerable children to empower them for a sustainable future.

 

These children’s education, welfare and care are completely dependent on the kindness of people like Bill.

 

Through the COVID19 pandemic, Ashraya has come under significant financial difficulty. This placed the welfare of all the children at risk and placed great pressure on the people who work and care for the children.

 

Upon Bill Armstrong was moved to want to do something to contribute to the plight of Ashraya. In 2020 he ran the marathon and raised $2150. This year, Bill has decided to run a marathon again and invite sdonations for his run to help Ashraya continue offering free, good quality education to the children.

 

Bill will be running on Sunday 28 November 2021 and invites your kind contribution. No donation is too small.
