Hi Friends!

As some of you may know, Big Ben has finally come home after being incarcerated for more than 40 years in California State Prison. During that time, he became a mentor, tutor, and leader in the community. He worked exceptionally hard to be found suitable for parole, but being released is not the end. It is essential that people have the resources and support not just to survive out in the community, but to thrive.

Transitioning to life on the outside has many challenges, including navigating technology, relationships, employment, housing, and much more. There are so many barriers, but not having the right clothes for an interview shouldn't be one of them. I am making a request to my community to help support Big Ben with some extra financial resources so that he can get on his feet and put himself in a position to thrive. With the right support, he will be able to offer the community the incredible skills and wisdom he has developed over the past four decades.

Many of you don't know Big Ben, but I have been lucky enough to get to know him as his attorney in the parole process. He is an incredible person: he is kind, smart, warm-hearted, charismatic, full of laughter, and cares deeply about others. His personality certainly matches his stature.
