WHO ARE WE?

Bridge to a Better Life Foundation is a non governmental 501c3 Organization working in Africa and beyond and we are dedicated to addressing the pressing needs of communities that often find themselves on

the boundary of access to essential resources

We also address communities that find it very very difficult to access the basic essential of life. We firmly believe that education is the most potent tool for empowerment and in many cases, the catalyst for breaking the cycle of poverty.

THE PURPOSE?

To build a school in a community that urgently requires our attention is located in Port Loko in Sierra Leone.

This community, consisting of approximately 2000 to 2500 individuals, faces numerous

challenges, particularly with regard to education. More than Sixty percent of its residents are single parents

and nearly 40 percent are young girls whose dreams and potential are hindered by limited

educational opportunities. The only school available in this community provides education only

up to Class 6 or 6th Grade.

Beyond that, children must embark on an arduous journey of 20 miles to the nearest

full primary school, which is a very dangerous and often insurmountable obstacle for many families. Most parents can't even afford one meal a day, or even provide transport fare for the kids to go 20 miles away, few kids have to break the circle under dying circumstances and made it to university level.

This dire situation has forced most parents to give their girl children into early child marriages or participation in harmful

practices like Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). The lack of accessible education perpetuates a

cycle of poverty, endangering the future of these young minds and hindering the community's

overall progress.

WHY SHOULD YOU DONATE?

By building this school, a lot of this kids would be educated.

When you give your help, we would bring education to the reach of the community and open their eyes to danger of illiteracy, reduce the early childhood marriage and also raise up voice against the horrible horror of Female Genital Mutilation and empower the community by training the youths and give the single mothers time so they can engage in vocational training, farming and literacy programs
