Friends and coworkers of Adam Niemeyer are putting together this go fund me to raise money for the Niemeyer family and their hopes of completing their family with the addition of another child.
The Niemeyer family consists of Adam Niemeyer (dad), Laura Niemeyer (mom), and Vivienne Niemeyer (daughter) and their two dogs, Bits and Harvey. Throughout Adam and Laura’s journey to parenthood, they have been open about their challenges and needs of going through IVF on their social media pages, in hopes of making any impact of raising awareness and making anyone else silently struggling feel less alone in their battle.
Since Vivienne’s birth (through IVF treatments in 2020), Adam and Laura have gone through IVF treatment two more times. The most recent attempt (in August of this year) was unsuccessful but the cycle before that gave them their daughter Eloise who was born sleeping in January of 2023. Their path to parenthood was supposed to end with Eloise coming home in March earlier this year, but instead they suffered the heartbreak and loss of their stillborn baby girl at 28 weeks old.
IVF is an extremely expensive path for families to have their own child. All too often the financial burden is the end of the road in many couples dreams of a family. Very few employers have coverages for fertility treatments so everything is paid out of pocket. This is not a position the Niemeyer’s ever thought they’d be in but IVF treatment is their only chance of having a baby of their own.
One IVF cycle costs around $20,000. Despite all the hardship they’ve suffered this year, the Niemeyer’s still have the desire to grow their family. Sadly though the ability to do so has become hindered due to the financial impact from the previous costs of the null attempts.
Any donation towards the goal will directly impact the Niemeyer’s ability to attempt IVF treatment again in hopes of achieving their dream of their perfect family. Should the amount donated exceed the original goal of $20,000, the additional donations will assist the Niemeyer’s in offsetting the expenses from the previous two attempts.
