Bhav here again! I wanted to share an update on my Eagle Scout Service Project and express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported me so far.
Thank you so much for your incredible support! On the second day, we successfully completed the project work. All of the four major tasks were completed. Huge thanks to the hardworking crew who gave their best effort all these two days!
I can’t thank everyone enough for their time, hard work, and encouragement on Day 1 and Day2. I have attached the final pics of my completed project for all of you to view. Any remaining funds will be donated to temple.

Namaste (Hello) everyone!
Bhav here again! I wanted to share an update on my Eagle Scout Service Project and express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported me so far.
Thank you so much for your incredible support! On the first day, we successfully completed about 60% of the project work. Out of the four major tasks, we finished laying the weed fabric, installing rubber mulch across 500 sq. ft., digging holes for five bushes, and planting them., finishing wood cutting and 90% of the shoe rack A and stepping stone walkway 80%. Huge thanks to the hardworking crew who gave their best effort all day long!
I can’t thank everyone enough for their time, hard work, and encouragement on Day 1.
For today’s work, we plan to finish assembling the first shoe rack and second one from the scratch, stain the bases and racks, realign the walkway stones, and clean up the work area.

Your kindness, generosity, and belief in my dream mean more than words can express. Because of your support, what once felt like a distant goal is now becoming a reality.
Major Update
In just 8 days, we’ve reached 92% of my fundraising goal!
This incredible milestone was made possible by all of you and my parents’ encouragement.
With your help, I am now moving forward and conducting my service project this weekend (October 11th & 12th) at the temple premises.
Calling All Scouts & Youth Volunteers
I especially welcome youth volunteers (Scouts, friends, and classmates). This project is built for young leaders—your help truly makes the difference!
✅ Service hours provided (great for Scouts, Beta, NHS, school requirements)
Age-appropriate jobs: measuring & marking, organizing hardware, painting/sealing, leveling pavers, clean-up/landscaping, tool running with supervision
Leadership chances: small team leads, task tracking, safety buddy roles
What to bring (if you can): work gloves(otherwise we will provide, closed-toe shoes, water bottle; we’ll have tools and supplies ready
Parents welcome too—family teams are awesome!
Breakfast and lunch (pizza) will be provided for everyone helping out.

Namaste (Hello)! My name is Bhav Shrithik Geddam, and I’m a Life Scout in Troop 2143, currently working toward earning the rank of Eagle Scout.
For my Eagle Scout service project, I will lead the construction and installation of two large 6'x6'x18" weatherproof outdoor shoe rack cabinets along with related site improvements at the Sri Shiva Durga Temple in Cumming, Georgia (2611 Bethelview Dr, Cumming, GA 30040).
The project is expected to complete before 17th of October, 2025 and planning to work on 10th, 11th and 12th of October provided, if no unavoidable circumstances arise.
The temple requires all devotees to remove their footwear before entering. At present, shoes are often left on the ground or in makeshift areas, creating clutter and potential tripping hazards. My project will solve this by providing two sturdy, covered racks that can store up to 150 pairs of shoes (about 72 pairs per rack) neatly off the ground and protected from weather.
In addition to the racks, I will:
Build a short tiled walkway for clean, safe access between the racks and curbside parking.
Plant five decorative shrubs to beautify the area.
Install rubber mulch with an edge border around existing bushes on the temple’s front side, covering about 500 sq. ft.
These improvements will benefit the temple community by keeping entryways clear, shoes organized, and the grounds safer, cleaner, and more welcoming for all who visit.
Why This Matters
These improvements will:
• Keep entryways clear for safe passage.
• Protect and organize footwear for the temple’s many visitors.
• Beautify the grounds to create a more welcoming and respectful environment.
This project is about more than construction — it’s about serving the community and giving back to a place that brings people together.
How these funds being utilized ?
These funds are being collected on behalf of the beneficiary, Shri Shiva Durga Temple of Atlanta. All the money collected through this fundraising will be used towards the procuring the materials, supplies and tools and any leftover funds , will be handover to the temple itself so that those funds can be utilized to take care of any future temple developments.
