My name's Taylor and Christian’s father’s name is Lance (my boyfriend), and recently we've been having a super hard time with money. I had just given birth 6 weeks earlier than I was supposed to. He was born on 11-1-25 instead of 12-9-25, and that led to us having a NICU baby. His name is Christian Sage Hanley, and he was in the NICU for 8 days. We were able to bring him home this last Sunday, and everything was going smoothly until last night. I had a feeling something wasn't right, so we rushed him to the ER. They took him as a priority trauma care. His heart is supposed to be 130/140 over something, and when we got there, it was only 30 over something. :( His heart was barely working, his lungs were breathing very shallow, his temperature was 86°, and his body was shutting down. The doctors said he had about an hour or maybe two to live, and we saved his life by bringing him in. They took some labs, and from the way they are looking, he has meningitis :( (an infection in the fluid around the brain). So, he will have to be back admitted in the NICU for a minimum of 10-14 days, but possibly longer if it doesn't heal with antibiotics and such.
My boyfriend (our only income) has not been working so that we can be there for him and be close to him. So, money has been incredibly tight. Our baby is in the NICU a town over, about 27-29 miles away from us, so it's been taking A LOT of gas and money. We've been relying on gas cards and asking friends for help. I just thought maybe I could make a GoFundMe because times are tough. I know everyone's struggling, especially as we turn into winter and it becomes slow season for a lot of people, but I was maybe hoping a couple of people could help.
We are trying our best to make it through these hard times, but a friend told me, "Maybe you should make a GoFundMe," and I told her that I felt kinda iffy about it because I didn't want to get hated on or receive dirty looks. But I have nowhere else to go or no one else to ask. I'm trusting in God in these moments that He will heal our son and help us through this mess and stressful times. I love all of you, whoever you are, and I hope God blesses all of you. I don't want to sound like I'm begging or anything like that, but we seriously need the help. We have a lot of overdue utilities, and our rent has been due. We're just plain out struggling, and we're worried we may lose the house, heat, water, electricity, anything like that. As he is gonna be there for another two weeks, possibly longer, my boyfriend (Christian's father) will not be working, and it's gonna make money even tighter. Again, you don't have to donate, but if you would like to, anything helps!! Literally anything. God bless everyone.
