Fundraising for the Earthquake in Albania

Donation protected
On 26.11 Albania was hit by an earthquake of magnitude 6.4, which was the strongest one since 1979. According to the Albanian Ministry of Protection, this natural disaster left 51 people dead and injured more than 600. However, more people are thought to be under the ruins. The country also registered thousands of material damages as houses and properties were destroyed and as a result, many people remain homeless.

To help with the grave situation in Albania, EESA - the Eastern European Students Association (https://eesa-students.nl/) in cooperation with Studentenvereniging Mozaik (http://www.sv-mozaik.nl) is raising funds and collecting clothes to send to the families that were affected by this disaster. Both organising teams of this fundraiser are official non-profit student associations that operate in Erasmus University, Rotterdam.

After 11.12, we are going to send the packages to Durres, Albania with the help of Mission and Relief logistics company (https://missionandrelief.nl/). We will use the money from the fundraiser to cover the transportation costs and the remainings - to buy toiletries, bed sheets according to the needs of the people there. As Denisa Kasa - a board member of EESA, is from Durres, she will personally distribute the clothes among the families in the survival camps, as she is coming back home on 14.12. We will document everything through roughly on our social media channels, as well as provide all the donors with transaction receipts via mail.

Feel free to contact both of the associations for more information.
