Better Together Community Support

Hi Y'all!! (that's a BIG Texas "Y'ALL!") 

We are a small, grass roots, community group that helps the people around us and those who join our group, far and wide, as we can. We are a VOLUNTEER centered group for community efforts and often put the “bat signal” out for volunteer help. Currently, we serve approx 1400hot meals a MONTH to the homeless. 

 We largely support our friends experiencing homelessness in our community by supplying quality meals and helping them towards long term resources as well. We work closely with many non-profits that provide navigation services (signing up for housing, food stamps, health insurance, social security, etc), and partner with them to provide a hot meal to those in need each month.  All of this is within the entity of the Charlie Center! (www.theCharlieCenter.org)

We find ourselves supplementing needs that larger orgs can not, however, we regulate and place safe parameters and boundaries while we work. 

What do we use funds for? Well, FOOD. That’s a given. And we do primarily resource funds available for food expenses from Austin Humanists at Work, but there are times we run out and grab the extras….Gatorades to hand out, emergency supplies, etc. We might pick up body wipes, or extras bandaids and first aid, hygiene or cleaning supplies. Hand warmers when it’s cold. Socks. Trash bags, ice, H‑E‑B bags to carry things with, maybe a backpack, maybe a lunch or an experience to get them out of feeling less than human and lonely…Just on and on and on….

Just SOME examples of what we do. Any help via donations will be PROMISED to go to continue our Good Samaritan works and only to continue to benefit the world of people around us that are in need.
