Laylee was born 3 1/2 months early at 1 pound 10 ounces; she has had a very long road since her birthday on March 28th. Laylee was born a Micro-Preemie and took the title on in full force. Many of us in the community have watched this little girl’s journey as she continues to grow, fight and surprise us all. Now with her 4th Brain surgery on December 10th, it’s time to bring a little holiday magic to a family that would do the same for anyone else.

After spending over 128 days in the NICU, traveling back and forth, four brain surgeries and an eye surgery, Laylee’s parents have become quite the team. Laylee also has a brother (Kevonte) and sister (Tamaya) in the Parkston School District.

Laylee’s entire family have joined in to help in any way they can, and now it’s our turn.

After talking with both parents, this little girl’s journey is much more than many of us have experienced. I’ve seen this community make big things happen, and this family deserves nothing less.

I currently have Laylee’s Aunt Autumn in class; her love for Laylee is inspiring. This fundraiser was Autumn’s idea to help her brother and his family in any way she can. Funds will be used to help with medical bills and travel costs.
