Berkeley Police Association Turkey Baskets 2022

The Berkeley Police Association is seeking community donations and support to once again host our annual “Turkey Basket” event. The purpose of the turkey baskets is to provide complete Thanksgiving meals to families in need throughout Berkeley. These families are identified by various organizations that assist the underserved members of our community.

The meals include a whole turkey, sides, bread rolls and a dessert. The baskets are assembled by 75 volunteers the day before Thanksgiving. Once assembled, the volunteers deliver the baskets to the various organizations throughout Berkeley. Our hope is that families can come together to cook and enjoy a special meal.

Last year was the most successful year for the event so far as we were able to provide over 700 meals. We are trying to yet again achieve those amazing numbers. To date, we have never had to say no to a community group that has asked for assistance. This success is only made possible by donations and support from our community and our strong partnerships with other organizations. The organizations that we partner with are The Fourth St Business District, Our City Center Church, Oakland Grocery Outlet, Pacific Agri, the Berkeley Police Department, and many more.
