Hi, My name is Hilda, and I have been participating in Brooklyn's brand-new Bergen Bike Train every Wednesday Morning, and we want to grow and hopefully figure out ways to create more Bike Trains all across NYC!

WHAT IS A BIKE TRAIN? Also called a Bike Bus, our Bike Train is an organized ride to help kids & their people get to school safely and on time, using their own power on a bike on city streets. The Bergen Bike Train was started and led by Rock Star public school teacher Emily Stutts, who spends hours and $$ keeping it going. I would like to help support her and her efforts, and the funds raised go to keeping this Bike Train going and growing.

The Bergen Bike Train is a youth-centered bike train working to empower families, kids, and youth to choose sustainable, active modes of transportation for the school run by making it safer, faster, and most importantly FUN! After the fantastic turnout and good vibes at the Bergen Street Bike, Walk or Roll to School Day across Brooklyn, we are so excited to roll on the Bergen Bike Train WEEKLY with families and young people.

We ride EVERY WEDNESDAY -- rain or shine; school is in session and so are we!

The route follows Bergen St from Rockaway Ave at 7:15AM to Court St by 8AM. Participants can hop on and off according to convenience. We have a live web tracker for families to track our progress that functions weekly during the rides at bergenbiketrain.glitch.me.

Please Note: Our goal is to have a safe and fun ride together. We will have adults identified as safety marshals on hand to be responsible for group safety and support. However, ALL children aged 14 or younger must be accompanied by a family member who will be responsible for them throughout the ride. Youths aged 15-18 may travel unaccompanied.
