Dear Friends and Neighbours,
We’re thrilled to announce that the Beresford Park Community Rink is officially open for another season! Thanks to the recent cold snap and the hard work of our incredible volunteer team, the ice is ready for everyone to enjoy. If the weather cooperates, we aim to keep the rink operational through late February.
For over 20+ years, this rink has been a labour of love by a dedicated group of neighbours with one simple goal: to create a welcoming space where kids, families, and residents can come together, enjoy the outdoors, and embrace the winter season. This is truly a community-driven project. The rink is entirely maintained by volunteers—often late at night while the rest of the neighbourhood sleeps.
While the City of Toronto provides basic essentials like a hose, water source, lighting, and shovels, there are many additional costs that are unfunded (or have been covered by the volunteers). Your contributions play a vital role in helping us cover these extra expenses. In the past, direct contributions from the volunteers have enabled us to purchase a snowblower and other items. Your contribution would provide ongoing support for equipment upgrades, gas, repairs, nozzles, crampons, shovels, nets, firewood - all to improve and sustain Beresford Park Community Ice Rink!
By donating, you’re ensuring that we can keep improving the rink and making it the best it can be. Every single dollar goes directly back into maintaining the rink, and any surplus funds will be carried over to future seasons.
We deeply appreciate your support and thank you for considering a donation to help keep this cherished community tradition alive.
Warm regards,
The Beresford Park Community Rink Volunteer team
