Benefit For The Three Children Of Trina Harper

Donation protected
Trina lost her battle with numerous medical conditions brought about by hereditary diabetes which left 3 children behind, who will need care in the future. Trina's diabetes resulted in foot infection and eventual amputation of her leg, several small strokes, kidney disease, and she finally succumbed to a hemorrhagic stroke at age 44. Trina was a fighter enduring many medical obstacles but left behind three wonderful children, Maggie 17, Aidan 15 and Abby 13. Maggie is graduating high school this year and will be attending college this fall. Her father Kent died young from a hereditary condition that resulted in numerous blood clots that eventually took his life and left Maggie without a father when she was just 3 months old. Maggie found her new love when she took drama class in school and intends to pursue a career in the arts.

A few years after Kent's death Trina found love once again with Brandon and Aidan was born, he was diagnosed with CHD and required surgery shortly after birth and he also had a malformation in the lower part of one lung which was removed. He eventually was also defined as being on level 1 of the Autism spectrum aka Asperger, but with Trina's loving care he's grown into a wonderful young man now in high school, he loves to play online games with his friends from school, he is also exploring his mechanical skills having with only a little instructional supervision replaced the faulty electric fuel pump in the family car getting it back on the road after being out of commission for several weeks.

A couple of years after Aidan, Abby was born, she had multiple birth defects including profound deafness but the most severe was a liver Omphalocele which Trina painstakingly addressed daily until such time that surgery could be done to close and reinforce the opening. Along with Trina's partner of eleven years Paul, they brought Abby through numerous surgeries and hospital stays, Abby was able to receive a Cochlear implant allowing her to hear quite well and had been attending public school until covid. With Trina's help she has become a normal teen with one exception in that she now also has kidney failure and is on dialysis three times a week and is currently on a kidney transplant list.

Trina was a wealth of knowledge knowing every detail of her children's health, all the medical terms and was knowledgeable enough to even keep the doctors up to date. She was always willing to share her knowledge and advice with other parents of children with similar health issues. She was always compelled to help others less fortunate through fundraisers, garage sales and food drives.

All donations to this fund, that will be held in trust by Grandma Patty will be used to help the 3 children with any educational, transportation or other needs that may arise for their overall well-being in the future.
