Benefit for Beckett
Donation protected
If you've ever had the privilege to meet Beckett, then you know he is one special little boy! Beckett is an 11-year-old boy going into the 5th grade at Evansville Christian School. He has overcome many obstacles in his life from birth until now, with major food allergies (all being anaphylaxic) and a rare form of eczema that has caused him to have to see a doctor in Indianapolis since he was a baby. He has recently been diagnosed with a condition called Arnold Chiari Malformation. This means his skull is too small for this brain and is pushing the cerebral tonsillar down and compressing his spine and brain stem. He will be having brain surgery on July 13, 2023. On that same day the neurologist will also do a full spinal MRI to check for a couple additional issues. The neurosurgeon is pretty certain that he also has a tethered spine as well as trapped spinal fluid in his spinal cord. After the full spinal MRI, if he has the tethered spine, they will do that surgery at the same time as the brain surgery. As you can imagine there will be an enormous amount of bills for this type of surgery, travel back and forth to Indianapolis, hotel stays, and time off work for Shea (his mom). Shea is a single mom and recently started a new job in which she must be employed for 90 days before benefits start. With her taking off work for Beckett's surgery and recovery time this will result in unpaid time off. We genuinely ask for your help in relieving the burden of bills so that Shea can focus on the recovery of Beckett and getting him well. If you are unable to provide a monetary donation we ask that you pray for Beckett, Shea, the doctors, and our family during this time.
