Hello, my name is Brady Young, and I am an aspiring Eagle Scout. My current project is not just a personal milestone—it’s a mission to enhance the safety of preschool children.
I am working on building a dedicated walking path from Entrance 3 at HOPE Preschool at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Ashburn, VA, to the playground at the back of the property. Currently, children have to navigate through an active parking lot, where drivers may be distracted and unaware of their presence. My goal is to provide a safer route for these young kids, ensuring they can get to and from the playground without unnecessary risk.
To further improve the experience, I will also be installing two benches at the entry of the path. These will offer a comfortable spot for parents and caregivers to sit while waiting for their children. Additionally, the benches will serve as a place where children can rest and wait for their parents before heading home, creating a more structured and safer transition from playtime to departure.
By creating this pathway and adding the benches, I hope to give parents peace of mind, knowing their children have a secure way to move between the church and the playground.
