Jonathan has grown up at Church of the Open Door in Glendora, CA, and has been an active participant in its youth programs and community events. Over the years, he and many others have made use of the church’s benches, which have provided a place for gathering, reflection, and connection. Now, those benches are well-worn and ready to be replaced so that another generation of youth and community members can be served at future events.

For his Eagle Scout project, Jonathan is taking on the challenge of building 30 new benches for the church. Church of the Open Door is an historic part of the Glendora community and hosts large events throughout the year, including the Living Nativity, Camp IDRAFOJE, and Vacation Bible Adventure. These benches will be used by hundreds of people during these special occasions and will serve as a lasting gift to the church and its members.
